Color Nulls: A Challenge for Data Visualization
In AppIconText widget, the Container widget being returned has both color and decoration defined. This is not allowed as stated in the error message. A container should either have a color or decoration or none. You can not have both color and decoration on a container. This is because a box decoration itself has a color property. If you are using a decoration, you should use this property to assign color to the Container.
color nulls
I am using QGIS Version 2.14.3.I have a map with polygons and a lot of different attributes. Some polygons have NULL values in some columns. I've tried to color the polygons with properties->style->graduated. But in some columns half of the values are NULL and now they don't have any colour.
Visual objects can be described by their color and by their color contrast. For example, a red disk in front of a white background appears "red with high color contrast," whereas a red disk in front of a slightly less-saturated red background will appear "red with low color contrast." This paper examines the visual response to color contrast in a cone-based color space. The stimulus consists of two disks whose chromaticity and/or luminance modulate in time along a line in a DKL color space; the chromaticity and luminance levels of the two disks are always identical. One disk is surrounded by a static ring whose color is at one end of the color line, and the other disk is surrounded by a static ring whose color is at the opposite end of the color line. The disks appear to modulate in antiphase (following the contrast information), yet they can also appear to be approximately the same color (following the chromatic/luminance information). The observers' task was to adjust the color angle of modulating disks until the antiphase appearance was eliminated-creating a contrast null. Observers set contrast nulls at a color angle approximately 90 deg away from the line connecting the colors of the surround rings; this result occurred in both chromoluminant and equiluminant color planes, although two observers showed a flattening near equiluminance in the chromoluminance planes. To account for the data, I present a model that contains one pathway for color and another pathway for color contrast. I show that (1) the model correctly predicts orthogonal directions in color space for the contrast nulling task; (2) the response of the contrast pathway appears to be faster than the response of the color pathway; (3) the response of the contrast pathway may mediate detection thresholds under some conditions (a finding that can account for some of the effects of surround luminance on temporal sensitivity); (4) the asynchronous modulation can be seen even when the stimulus is blurred; and (5) the asynchrony does not require a disk-ring configuration.
I added rgb(248,203,173) to the background color expression. This only put the color for the cells with value and leave the null cell gray. I would like to apply the same color to the null cell and make it looks consistent.
-to-Qlik-Sense/Qliksense-normal-table-background-colour-when-null-v... this thread implies that the background color expression wont work unless there is a value in the cell. It would be good if qlik support or a qlik employee could confirm this...
I just came across the same issue and it can be handled using visual cues background settings rather than in the expression. In my case I defined upper as >=0 (red) and made all other background settings green. Result is that nulls are green.
What I want is when an average can be calculated is the panel to be green and showing the averaged value and when there is no data to average I want the panel to be red. While I can just set the value mappings of null to either blank / #N/A / *NO DATA* I have quite a few panels so I want a easy colour / color coded system that allows for easy visual inspection.
The desaturate() function decreases saturation by a fixed amount, which is often not the desired effect. To make a color a certain percentage less saturated than it was before, use color.scale() instead.
The $weight must be a number between 0% and 100% (inclusive). A higher weight means the result will be closer to the negative, and a lower weight means it will be closer to $color. Weight 50% will always produce #808080.
Both the $weight and the relative opacity of each color determines how much of each color is in the result. The $weight must be a number between 0% and 100% (inclusive). A larger weight indicates that more of $color1 should be used, and a smaller weight indicates that more of $color2 should be used.

Each keyword argument must be a number between -100% and 100% (inclusive). This indicates how far the corresponding property should be moved from its original position towards the maximum (if the argument is positive) or the minimum (if the argument is negative). This means that, for example, $lightness: 50% will make all colors 50% closer to maximum lightness without making them fully white.
The transparentize() function decreases the alpha channel by a fixed amount, which is often not the desired effect. To make a color a certain percentage more transparent than it was before, use color.scale() instead.
We are using forms for SharePoint and would like to add some custom code to the form where if a field is blank/null, it changes the control of the field to a different color. We have some fields that are being missed and they are fields that we cannot require to be filled out en masse so I wanted to create a visual way of indicating that a field is blank.
We would like to be able to apply this to all fields in the form via code, such as a for each/next type of thing. We would also like to be able to manipulate the color of the control, not the entire field, just the box they type in. We would also like to be able to change the color of the control based on the selection of the field so this code would be very useful to us for multiple applications.
I would like to set my SSMS environment to show a NULL value as a different color background within SSMS grid view. I have seen this and done this before, but I cannot seem to find this setting. I have changed most of the other settings and colors or objects and text, but I cannot locate this one.
If you dig around a bit on google you will quickly find that this is the color of your windows tooltip. From the 2 minutes googling it seems that this feature didnt really work, there are connect items around the settings not actually working. As a result they removed this setting in 2008r2 and 2012.
In a recent analysis, we highlighted the higher risks COVID-19 poses for communities of color due to underlying health, social, and economic disparities. When we released that analysis, only a handful of states were reporting racial and ethnic data for confirmed coronavirus cases and deaths, but those data were already showing stark, disproportionate impacts for some groups of color. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) began reporting national data on confirmed coronavirus cases by race and ethnicity as of April 17, 2020. Similar to earlier state data, they suggest that the virus is having disproportionate effects, with Black people accounting for 34% of confirmed cases with known race/ethnicity compared to 13% of the total population as of April 20, 2020. However, race and ethnicity is missing or unspecified for nearly two-thirds (65%) of the CDC-reported cases, limiting the ability to interpret the data. In addition to the CDC data, a growing number of states have started reporting racial and ethnic data for cases and deaths, which provide further insight into how the virus is affecting communities across the country:
As of April 15, 2020, 33 states, including DC, were reporting data on distribution of confirmed coronavirus cases and/or deaths by race/ethnicity. Our analysis of these data finds that they continue to paint a sobering picture of how the virus is disproportionately affecting communities of color, as described and illustrated below (Figure 1). These data will continue to evolve as states update their data and additional states begin reporting data by race and ethnicity. Going forward, we will update these data on a regular basis and add them to our State Data and Policy Actions to Address Coronavirus dashboard.
I would like to set my color in default as null (or empty string). Furthermore I would like to allow reseting previous value (some color) to null again. I added clearButton, but it was insufficient. I tried to add some jquery function on onClose event:
Locally made from regionally-based forest products, Scotts Nature Scapes Color Enhanced Mulch Classic Black brings vibrant, year-long color to your landscape. The ability to enjoy the bright colors all year comes from the Color Guard technology which enables the mulch to retain its vibrant hues. An additional benefit is that just a three-inch layer of Scotts mulch naturally prevents weeds by leaving them no room to grow and blocking their access to sunlight. Place mulch around trees, shrubs, flowers, or vegetables. In addition to enhancing the natural beauty of your plants, the mulch helps to keep them hydrated by conserving the moisture in the soil. This mulch doesn't just look good, it is certified under Mulch & Soil Council for quality assurance and industry standards. Each bag contains only natural forest products, no construction debris or pallet wood is ever added. And every bag is manufactured an average of 150 miles from the store where it is sold. Keep mulch dry for 24 hours after application to experience the longest color and then, every 3-4 months, rake the top 1" of mulch to optimize its coloration.
In SQL Server Management Studio 2008, it shows NULL values in result set with yellow color. And in SQL Server Management Studio 2005, it shows NULL values with no color by default.Reference: -server-null-as-nothing-vs-null-as.html.
Previously, to set a screen component to transparent, the color property was set to null. Now the default color is used. Setting the text color in a block to the string TRANSPARENT does NOT make the color transparent.
